Hello! I'm a total newbie to sewing, but I'm starting my sewing journey in order to maybe save money on hanfu (rip yingmei's bank account ๐ฅ). I've started by making some paper beizi using a pattern posted here by another user. I'll post pictures as soon as I figure out how to. In the meantime, does anyone have any advice on how to get started? What hanfu would be feasible for a beginner like me?

April : I have made a cross neck top before. I started by cutting out each part from paper according to the making pattern and piecing it together to make sure i am clear each part. Then I made a preliminary attempt on a cheap piece of fabric. Draw each part with chalk and leave space for sewing.
I was not skilled in how to operate the sewing machine, I could only sew individual straight lines. So I got a helper and I told her where to start.
In fact, it is very easy for a skilled sewer to make a hanfu. Just make sure they know what the features of a hanfu are, such as the center seam in the middle of the back and what the collar looks like. So you need to have a hanfu as a reference, or lots of pictures.
