On March 31, coinciding with the traditional Shangsi Festival and China Huafu Day, Chongqing Airlines hosted the "Splendid Attire Illuminates Cotton, Youth Shines on Chongqing Airlines" cultural event at Terminal T3A of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. This immersive celebration aimed to showcase the elegance of traditional Chinese attire and promote cultural heritage through interactive activities.
Dressed in exquisite Han, Tang, and Song dynasty costumes, Chongqing Airlines’ staff transformed the terminal into a vibrant cultural stage. They guided passengers through check-in procedures with classical etiquette, demonstrated traditional greetings like the "拱手礼" (hand-folding salute) and "揖礼" (bow salute), and infused the journey with the essence of Confucian philosophy: "Harmony is the most precious virtue of rituals."
A dedicated "Huafu Experience Corner" in the airline’s lounge featured ink-painting backdrops of blooming kapok flowers. Passengers savored tea from Xiushan—a rural revitalization partner region—paired with osmanthus cakes, embodying the poetic charm of ancient tea ceremonies. Many paused to take photos with the elegantly dressed "Youth Civilization" volunteers.
The event also highlighted traditional games like pitching-pot ("投壶"), where volunteers explained its historical roots in Zhou dynasty rituals. Participants who succeeded received souvenirs while appreciating the grace of ancient "射礼" (archery etiquette). A traveler, Ms. Wang, remarked, "The staff’s attire and manners made me feel transported to ancient times!"
Beyond cultural immersion, Chongqing Airlines integrated Huafu elements into practical services. Costumed volunteers assisted passengers with smart devices and shared aviation safety tips, blending tradition with modernity.
China Huafu Day, established in 2018 by the Communist Youth League Central Committee, falls on the third day of the third lunar month—a date linked to the legendary Yellow Emperor’s birthday and the Shangsi Festival. Chongqing Airlines, committed to cultural innovation, plans to launch seasonal-themed events like "Solar Term Days" to further bridge tradition and air travel, turning journeys into dynamic windows for global cultural exchange.
