Heze’s First College Hanfu Carnival

Youth Revives Tradition

The 2025 Heze College Hanfu Carnival (Hànfú Jiānián Huá, 汉服嘉年华), themed “Youth Meets Millennium Hanfu”, launched on March 23 at Laocheng Caozhou Scenic Area (老城曹州景区). Blending traditional Hanfu culture with youthful energy and tourism, this 42-day event featured seven themed activities, including an opening Hanfu parade where students in dynastic attire strolled through ancient streets to 《Shang Chun Shan》 music, evoking Tang-dynasty poetry.

Highlights included:

Caozhou Ten Scenes (曹州十景) Photo Spots: Students wearing Hanfu could claim gifts by sharing photos from 9+ heritage sites on social media.

Hanfu Fashion Show: Over 500 participants showcased peony-embroidered designs, symbolizing Heze’s “Peony Capital” identity.

Cultural Bazaar: Hanfu vendors from Cao County (曹县)—China’s largest Hanfu production hub—and local非遗 (fēiyí, intangible heritage) artisans exhibited costumes, accessories, and crafts.

Interactive Zones: Q&A sessions with prizes and DIY workshops educated visitors on Hanfu etiquette and aesthetics.

The carnival drew 20,000+ attendees, merging history with Gen-Z creativity.

By integrating social media engagement (e.g., “#菏之美·同袍共泽#” hashtag campaigns), it revitalized traditional culture through youth-led innovation, positioning Heze as a hub for heritage revival. Running until May 4, the event also boosted local tourism, with hotel bookings up 30% during the period.
