"Floral Kuiwen, Better Weifang," will run from March 23 to 31 in Weifang, Shandong Province. Hosted by the Kuiwen District government, this fourth edition integrates Hanfu culture with commercial tourism to revitalize traditional festivities. Key highlights include a public-voted "Twelve Flower Deities" pageant (selected via online polls), Hanfu discounts at 100+ stores in Taihua Mall, and interactive rituals like flower worship, floral arrangement, and ancient archery games. Attendees in Hanfu can claim free gifts or participate in themed photo ops with the mall’s mascot "Da Meng."
The event features a Guochao (China-chic) fashion show by designer Wang Ping, blending traditional headwear with modern aesthetics, alongside folk music and dance performances. A dedicated "Floral Market" offers craft workshops and cultural displays. Since 2022, the festival has boosted Kuiwen’s "culture-commerce-tourism" synergy, driving foot traffic to local businesses while nurturing civic pride in intangible heritage.
To broaden engagement, organizers leverage social media campaigns on Douyin and Xiaohongshu, while partnerships with influencers and cultural ambassadors amplify visibility. By merging Hanfu culture with commercial incentives, the festival aims to position Weifang as a hub for heritage innovation, fostering sustainable urban development through creative cultural consumption.
